There are so many moving pieces to a wedding day. Between florals, wedding attire, your venue, photographers, and all your other vendors, by the time you get to your wedding day, you will have a team of wedding vendors working on your day. How cool is that?! Over the past couple of years, I have had the opportunity to work with so many amazing Wisconsin Wedding Vendors. This is why I have put together a list of some of my favorites for you.
I LOVE these fellow Wisconsin vendors and would work with them every day if I could. Though, I do not expect you to choose these vendors just because I love them. Choosing vendors on your wedding day is a very big decision. You and your partner will need to take your time and put some thought into who you’re hiring as you’re looking around!
Here are a couple of questions you’ll want to ask yourself as you begin looking for vendors.
Though it may seem superficial, at the end of the day, you are either purchasing a product or a service from each and every one of your vendors. It is extremely important that you make sure you like what they will be providing. If it’s a photographer or videographer, check out their editing style, how they photograph a wedding day, and a full wedding gallery or video if they have any available.
If you’re looking for a baker, you’ll want to order a taste testing box or stop by their shop to try out some desserts. If you’re looking to hire a florist, you’ll want to see some images of past bridal bouquets or boutonnieres. Remember, a wedding vendor’s style and craft is what they are selling. You won’t be able to ask a wedding photographer to change their editing style to fit your vision. This is why it’s so important to make sure you like every aspect of their work before you move forward.
There is absolutely no shame in having a wedding budget. Everyone has one and there are so many different prices when it comes to services and products. When you start checking out a vendor, you will want to start on their website. Look for starting prices, information on their experience, and reviews to get a feel for them.
After you check out their site, if you feel you might be a good fit, it’s time to inquire! When you inquire, on top of getting to know your vendor, you will want to look for answers to the following questions: What is included in the packages they offer? What is their pricing like? How much money do they require for your retainer fee? If I were to hire a Wisconsin Hair and makeup artist the payment might be broken into different parts. There might be a $50 reservation fee, a $100 trial fee, and then a fee for the package on the day of. These are all important things to know ahead of time so that you can plan your budget accordingly and make sure you’re prepared for the payments that come with your vendor.
More than likely there are going to be a lot of moving parts that go into your wedding day. There will be a lot of energy, nerves, and all sorts of emotions leading up to your wedding day. There will be even more on your actual day! This is why it is important that as you’re creating your vendor team, you get along with everyone involved. Many vendors, because their job is so intimate, have mandatory calls with their clients prior to booking. These calls are used to make sure you get along with one another and are on the same page in terms of services.
Specifically when it comes to wedding photographers, videographers, and HMUAs (hair and makeup artists) you want to make sure your personalities mesh well together. You will be with your photographer and videographer more than you will be with your soon-to-be spouse on your wedding day. You want to make sure you will enjoy each other’s company so you can have fun on your wedding day.
If you’re nervous about hiring vendors, make sure to start with these three questions! The answers to these questions should help your Wisconsin wedding vendor search and help you to narrow down potential vendors for your day.
