Lion’s Den Gorge Maternity Session | Kelsie + Nick
Kelsie, Nick, and I had the most wonderful maternity session on the beaches and in the fields of Lion’s Den Gorge in Grafton Wisconsin. These two are some of the sweetest people I’ve had the chance to work with. Being able to capture this incredible moment in their lives was so special and one of the many reasons why I LOVE maternity sessions!
A Bit About the Couple
Before we get into their maternity session at Lion’s Den Gorge let’s talk about the lovely couple for a bit as these two are truly wonderful! They moved to Wisconsin a couple of years ago from Chicago and are currently parents to one fur baby, a 4-year-old Australian Shepherd named Banks. They’re both super go with the flow people and are huge fans of the outdoors. They used to have a house in Colorado that they dearly miss but have been enjoying their time in Wisconsin so far hiking and exploring the areas around them!
The Beauty of Maternity Sessions
When asked what they were most looking forward to about their maternity session at Lion’s Den Gorge Kelsie replied “Capturing this amazing season that has just flown by. I have loved every minute of being pregnant and Nick and I haven’t had the chance to capture it via photo/video much, especially with both of us together.” This is what I love most about photography and especially maternity photography. It is SUCH a special time in your life and while 9 months may sound like a long time when you think about it, it truly does fly by once you’re in it!
Their Session at Lion’s Den Gorge
We had so much fun during their maternity session, even with the swarms of mosquitos and the dead fish on the beach shore. We lathered up in bug spray and both Kelsi and Nick were absolute troopers on the beach. It was absolutely gorgeous out there which made it totally worth it. We got a ton of photos down by the beach of Lion’s Den Gorge before heading up to the fields for the rest of their maternity session. After a quick outfit change, we had some time to frolic in the fields and enjoy the last bit of our time together before it was time to part ways, but it was such a memorable and wonderful day!
